Job Description

General Responsibilities:

  • Order supplies for areas of responsibility (Wastewater & Pretreatment)
  • Maintain SDS log for department
  • Primary contact concerning chemicals used in area
  • Conduct scheduled operator PMs and coordinate maintenance repairs
  • 50% of the time will be used to help the paint line run effectively, duties include but not limited to: hanging parts, painting parts, moving materials, ordering supplies, inspecting parts, packaging, cleaning work areas, etc.
  • Work with paint line personnel on break rotations, vacations, and daily production when needed

Wastewater/Pretreatment Washer Responsibilities:

  • Check and maintain chemical levels in a safe manner.
  • Oversee cleaning of pretreatment system
  • Maintain filter press & clarifier on waste water system
  • Conduct daily titrations, record results and make appropriate adjustments
  • Check coating weights on stage 4 and record results
  • Work with chemical supplier on product testing and maintaining pretreatment supplies
  • Assist in corrosion testing
  • Conduct annual cleaning of pretreatment system
  • Oversee daily system start up; included oven, dryer, & pretreatment system
  • Work with paint line personnel on break rotations, vacations, and daily production when needed

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of finishing experience is preferred but not required
  • Team player that is mechanically inclined and must have a strong working knowledge of powder coating, pre-treatment and waste water systems.
  • Self-starter that is quality conscious and is detail orientated.
  • Problem solving, analytical, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Resourcefulness in accomplishing objectives with solid decision-making skills
  • Applicant must be willing to become certified in the following; respirator training, Lockout /Tag-Out, Haz-Comm, SDS training, PPE training, fire extinguisher training, crane operation, slings & straps training and confined space training.
  • Applicant must successfully pass an assessment of pretreat and wastewater systems prior to completion of probationary period.
  • The applicant must be able to adapt to a fast-paced work environment safely with minimal training and must be able to stand for 8 to 12 hours and lift 50 lbs
