We are recruiting a paint and bodywork technician with long-term career aspirations to handle all aspects of paint and clear coat preparation and application at our Winchester, VA facility. Extensive experience is not necessary, but a basic familiarity with the processes involved, a "can-do" attitude, willingness to learn, and the ability to follow instructions to the letter are a must.

You will be playing a key role in the manufacture on exciting parts for projects that push boundaries in the motorsport, marine, aerospace, and other dynamic industries.
Overview of Key Applicant Skills:
- Familiarity in the preparation and application of high performance multi-part coatings
- Block sanding
- Primer, basecoat, clearcoat, etc. spray application
- Wet sanding and polishing
- Safe handling of all materials involved
- Tidy and well organized; Maintains workspace cleanliness
- Able to listen to and act efficiently and independently based on verbal and/or written instruction
- Understanding of weights, measures, and mixing ratios; reading tape measure, measuring weights and dispensing/applying materials based on data sheet specified mixing ratios and methods
Core responsibilities:
- Preparing and finishing laminated parts and assemblies
- Sanding, cleaning, painting/clear coating as necessary
- Wet sanding and polishing finished components to remove orange peel
- Preparing plugs and molds with filling primer and block sanding prior to application of release materials and layup
- Maintain shop and booth cleanliness; use all dust and fume collection measures available to maintain a safe, healthy, and pleasant work environment for yourself and your co-workers
Secondary Responsibilities (As Needed):
- Assistance with laminating large items as requested by the laminating team
- Composite part repairs
- Shop maintenance, general cleanup
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
Preferred Qualifications:
- Trade experience e.g. automotive bodywork technician, mechanic, carpenter, etc.
