Finance Operations Analyst (Payroll) - 9 Month FTC

The position:

We are looking to recruit a Finance Operations Analyst on a nine-month fixed-term-contract to manage the existing monthly finance function for payroll ensuring that all employees are correctly paid and the corresponding finance activities are completed on a monthly basis.

The role:

The ideal candidate will require excellent organisational and process development skills with a focus on detail. They will require an understanding of the financial/accounting implications of any actions completed as well as a knowledge of payroll principles.

Below is an overview of the key tasks (these are not exclusive):

  • Be the main point of contact with HR
  • Manage the relationship with the outsourced payroll provider to ensure they are held to account, and all deadlines are met
  • Ensure the relevant information from the HR system is updated on the outsourced payroll provider’s system in accordance with the documented process timetable
  • Upload expenses/per diems and other ad hoc payments to the outsourced payroll provider’s system in accordance with the documented process timetable
  • Assist HR when calculating adjustments to account for employee changes
  • Audit all of HR entries and assist with trouble shooting
  • Assist the HR team with calculations such as settlements, maternity schedules, shared leave and sickness
  • Prepare payroll analysis reporting for review by the management team
  • Complete required monthly tasks to the set timetable (Ensuring payroll is signed off and all reporting is run to the required deadlines)
  • Answer ad hoc employee questions
  • Complete the monthly pensions contribution/auto enrolment process as per the set timetable
  • Complete the monthly reconciliations for all role related accounts and complete the necessary journal postings
  • Manage ‘other’ payroll related payments (e.g. floats, expenses, etc)
  • Complete adhoc analysis on a standalone basis or as part of a wider project
  • Adhere to annual governance reporting such pensions and salary sacrifice calculations
