Finance Assistant (Part Time)

As Finance Assistant your responsibilities will be to support the Finance Director in day to day transactional needs, producing both monthly and annual accounts. Working as part of the Finance team the role will help ensure the smooth running of the accounts function within the business.

Key duties and responsibility

  • Process Accounts Payable and Accounts Received in a timely and efficient manner
  • Responsible for Purchase Ledger, including processing, bank reconciliation and associated tasks
  • Deal with invoice queries, credit notes and refunds in an effective and timely manner
  • Day to day booking responsibility
  • Assisting with Journal preparation
  • Updating supplier records
  • Raising and coding purchase orders
  • Ensure monthly processing deadlines are met
  • Produce month end reports
  • To provide holiday/sickness cover for Payroll position
  • Cover for front office in busy periods
  • Any other duties as required and deemed to be commensurate to the role

Experience and Skills

  • Strong experience working with Sage
  • Experience within a purchase ledger/ sales ledger role or similar
  • A strong written and verbal communication style
  • The ability to prioritise workload according to urgency
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Confidence in liaising with colleagues outside of the finance function to resolve queries
  • Natural problem solving ability
  • Excellent software skills
  • Flexibility to meet the demands of the role

Salary: from £18,000 per annum (FTE) depending on experience.

Hours: 24 hours per week between the hours of 7:30 am-4pm Monday to Thursday and 7:30am-12:30pm on a Friday.

Job Type: Permanent , Part time.
