The FIA Electronics Department leads digital transformation through electronics and data systems. Within this department, the F1 Data Intelligence Group focuses on designing, building and deploying the data analysis platform that enables more effective real-time decisions trackside and  allows data-driven design of future sporting and technical regulations. We seek result-driven, proactive people, who are passionate about building software solutions that address problems by transforming how engineers use data and technology. They must have a desire to innovate in a collaborative atmosphere, as part of a growing team dedicated to pushing the boundaries of what is possible in the unique and inspiring motor sport environment. The position will be based in our headquarters in Geneva and will involve some travel to championship events.

The missions of the F1 Data Engineer revolve around designing, building and deploying capabilities that let users access, visualise and interact with data to meet their analytical needs, without requiring them to master querying languages, statistical modelling or the command line. To accomplish this, the Data Engineer is involved in all stages of the product life cycle: idea generation, user interviews, planning, design, prototyping, execution, shipping and iteration.

Data Collection and Integration

- Participate in the development of an FIA data structure aimed at unifying data access across all FIA championships.

- Liaise with other departments inside the organisation to homogenise data collection, storage and access protocols.

Data Preprocessing and Reporting

- Develop and deploy a data augmentation platform aimed at capitalising simulation results and machine learning data analytics.

- Build upon the current suite of FIA data analysis tools to scrutinise heterogeneous data, generate insights more effectively and enable further activities.
