Honda F1 are seeking an ERS Test Engineer to join the business on a permanent basis based in Milton Keynes. The purpose of this role is to work within the Energy Recovery System (ERS) development and testing team, taking responsibility for component, subsystem and system level testing of primary high voltage circuit, inverter, dc-dc converter and overarching battery management system.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Define acceptance testing procedures, test equipment and pass / fail criteria
• Provide engineering support to the build team
• Analyse test data to capture any issues prior to track use
• Investigate issues, faults or anomalies on ERS packs:
• Proactive input into improving current testing methods and streamlining testing
• Plan, execute and document test activities in a clear, concise manner
• Support commissioning of new test equipment
• Schedule maintenance of test equipment
• Define service content of production components
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• Strong Degree in Engineering or similar discipline or equivalent experience
• Experience in validating high voltage battery systems and/or power electronics
• Experience in designing, specifying and use of high voltage system production tools / equipment
• Strong fault finding and diagnostic abilities
• Familiarity with software tools such as MatLab and Simulink
• ATLAS/System Monitor experience highly desirable
• AVL Puma system experience advantageous
• Excellent document presentational skills
• An adept communicator, able to build good relationships across all cultures both internally and externally
• Fluency in spoken & written English is essential. Competence in Japanese or another European language is desirable
• Domestic Travel and Travel overseas will be required
