ER Specialist

Mercedes AMG HPP are seeking an ER Specialist to join our world championship winning team at Brixworth. As a key member of the Employment Relations team you will take primary responsibility for handling the full range of ER issues.

The role is to manage core ER processes, ensuring accurate and timely service delivery.  You are required to have an in-depth knowledge of the key processes, take ownership for continuous improvement in those processes, and highlight any requirements for management development relating to employee relations.  The role also takes ownership for disciplinary and grievance processes.

To Be successful in this role you...

  • Support managers through the performance improvement process.
  •  Assess Flexible Working Requests.
  •  Carry out Sickness Absence Management.
  •  Managing disciplinary and grievance cases through to closure for routine cases. 
  •  Provide policy and process guidance and general ER advice to managers and employees in a professional manner. 
  •  Conduct exit interviews for all staff; identify wider ER/Engagement issues.  
  •  Manage annual wellbeing activities; look for creative ways to boost employee wellbeing.
  •  Report on key areas, sickness, turnover, ER issues.
  •  Identify trends from issues being raised and create solutions to resolve them.
  •  Work with the HR Manager to maintain good levels of staff morale and engagement as directed by the management team agenda.
  • Work with the HR Manager to conduct employee surveys as collaboratively agreed with the management team

  •  Handling Employee Relations related cases.
  •  Being empathetic, with great interpersonal skills.
  •  Being able to build relationships trusted by both employee and employer to work as a liaison who finds solutions to both of their   problems while maintaining important confidential information.
  •  Good judgment and problem solving skills in order to regularly resolve conflicts.
  •  Friendly and persuasive.
  •  Ability to manage, organise and prioritise numerous objectives, projects or activities simultaneously.
  •  Must be comfortable working under pressure whilst maintaining attention to detail.
  •  Ability to operate independently using their own initiative.
  •  Positive attitude and results driven, whilst providing a good level of customer service.

Demonstrate knowledge of…

  • An expert knowledge of current UK employment legislation and case law.
  •  Strong counselling and advisory skills balanced with influencing techniques.
  •  Technical and functional expertise in employment law, HR policy and process.

Hold these qualifications…

  • A good academic background and degree qualified at 1st or 2:1 grade
  • CIPD Qualified
