Role Overview
At the heart of Fisker’s visionary product lies a state of the art powertrain – and you can play a central role in its delivery. The Power Electronics Engineer is responsible for the HV system physical design and safety, along with the DC-DC and AC-DC hardware. Fisker is a fast-moving technologically-focused startup, and in this context you will need considerable flexibility and adaptability to deal with the rapidly-developing requirements at the leading edge of EV powertrain implementation.
Skills and Experience
- Support HV system power electronics requirements and validation plan development
- Support completion of HV systems physical testing in vehicle and at test benches
- Troubleshoot and debug electronic systems
- Educational background or work experience in automotive power electronics
- Basic knowledge of circuit topologies and design processes for AC-DC and DC-DC systems
- Understanding of designing for fault tolerance, reliability, and manufacturing
- Experience modelling, developing and testing power electronics systems, including the development of test and validation plans at all levels from SIL to full vehicle
- Understanding basic vehicle control strategies and communication protocols including CAN
- Familiarity with Functional Safety (ISO 26262) and D/PFMEA
- Desire to learn and self-motivated
- Good analytical and problem solving
Qualifications
- 1-3 years relevant professional experience
- BS or MS in electrical, computer engineering or related engineering discipline
