Joining this highly motivated, dynamic and high pressured environment as an Engine Test Technician you will have the opportunity to work with and test power units for this world leading F1 organisation in Northamptonshire.
Using your dyno knowledge and engine test background, you will be highly visible in the engineering team, and will be integral to the future success of this exciting company.
Within state of the art facilities you will be responsible for operating a selection of both Low and High Specification Test Rigs / Dynamometers, unsupervised, in line with established best practices, loading and removing various types of components and configuring Test Cells to conduct both basic and complex tests (development tests)
You will service cells, following a TPM (Total Prevention Maintenance) check sheet, following procedures to change filters, oil, coolant, components and supporting facility service activities as required, support the construction of rigs/frames/sub-assemblies for test work to appropriate procedures including construction of frames, assembling Rexroth-type frames, cutting and assembling framework using the appropriate hand tools and connection of pipework.
You will also be involved in connecting, removing, constructing and routing of low pressure pipework through Rigs, Dynamometers, Sub-assemblies and Engines, location of suitable mechanical fittings (nuts, bolts, staublii fittings), and checking the specification, locating fittings from the General and Test Operations Stores.
You will have sound understanding of mechanical and/or electrical engineering principles, experience of working in a powertrain testing environment operating test rigs and dynos, knowledge of internal combustion engines and hybrid systems, ability to configure and run test control systems and experience of constructing rigs, frames and sub-assemblies. Any PUMA software knowledge is an added benefit and you must be flexible to adapt to constantly changing demands.
