As an engineering company with a wide-ranging customer base, the position will support development of prototype and concept vehicles, with a strong focus on vehicle electrification, autonomous vehicles and unmanned vehicle platforms. Pratt & Miller is looking for highly talented candidates to focus on vehicle electronics design, development and integration. The following section describes the skills that are valuable for the types of projects awarded to our group.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Typical responsibilities include but are not limited to the following items:
- Production Readiness of Electronic Systems
- Establish an electronics design and release process for future growth
- Develop and support manufacturing tools for internal and customer builds
- Direct DFM/DFA/DFS activities for electronic systems
- Lead customer service and support, including troubleshooting and resolution
- Mentor team members to build and grow this capability at Pratt & Miller
- Vehicle Electrical Architecture
- Support development of vehicle integration strategies for electrical systems
- Assist in defining architectures for power generation, management, and storage
- Aid in CAN integration with vehicle communication systems
- Communicate wiring and connector requirements to support harness builds
- System Hardware Specification
- Design wiring harness schematics per automotive and MIL-STD specifications
- Work with and assist electrical lab in building harnesses
- Research, select, and source sensors, actuators, motors, energy storage, and other hardware
- Communicate mechanical requirements of system to project design staff
- System Integration and Testing
- Assist in the build and integration of the electric system into the vehicle
- Interface with suppliers to identify and procure parts
- Troubleshoot electrical issues ranging from harnessing to controller states
- Process and analyze performance and test data
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
