PURPOSE

 

Develop test and calibration equipment/procedures for on car electrical components/assemblies and provide support for instrumentation and electronic development projects within the Company

 

Primary Responsibilities

 

  • Development, maintenance, and support of existing automated test equipment (NI DAQ hardware and LabVIEW software) for goods-in test and calibration of electrical components and end of production line testing of electronic/electrical assemblies.
  • Design and development of new ATE equipment and procedures to increase test coverage and improve efficiency.
  • Lasing with component manufacturers to resolve quality issues.
  • Support for the development of new sensors/sensing techniques.
  • Support for the development of new instrumentation and data acquisition systems.
  • Support and maintenance of sensor database.
  • Support and maintenance of electrical component lifing systems.
  • Development of the necessary software tools to support the test and calibration activities (using LabView, Visual Basic, C, C#, etc).
  • Support in the development of embedded software for electronic assemblies.
  • Providing support for other department's test and calibration activities in terms of equipment selection, assistance in setting up and performing tests, etc.

 

Skills & Knowledge Required

 

  • Experience of developing automated test equipment and data acquisition systems using NI/LabView.
  • Experience of analogue and digital electronic design, schematic capture, PCB layout and processes involved with unit development/production.
  • Experience in developing unit firmware in C, etc.
  • Knowledge of principles of sensor design.
  • Knowledge of sensor signal conditioning interface designs.
  • Experience of developing microcontroller systems for sensor data acquisition and processing.
  • Knowledge of harness/loom design.
  • Be proficient in the use of word processing, spreadsheet, drawing, etc PC software packages.
  • Ability to calmly and confidently work under pressure to achieve targets and deliver results within required timescales

Location: The role will be based at the Silverstone Factory

Hours: Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5.30pm 1 hour for lunch – Additional hours may be required as work dictates
