The Role
Cirrus is currently seeking an Electronics Design Engineer to join the R&D team in designing the next generation Sound Level Meters and noise monitoring equipment.
The successful candidate will be Degree qualified with a proven track record of designing electronic circuits and seeking to further their career in a small forward-thinking company.
The role will be based at the head office in Hunmanby, Nr Filey in North Yorkshire
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the design of new products with the assistance of Firmware and Software engineers.
- Electronic hardware design of Microcontroller circuits with typical peripherals including USB, IRDA, RAM, FLASH, ADC’s, I/O, SERIAL, COMPACT FLASH, BLUETOOTH, NFC, OLED, TFT DISPLAY’s, RTOS, Ethernet etc.
- Analogue design of audio circuits.
- Design for EMC and CE compliance.
- Generate project documentation; requirement specification, test reports.
- Generate product drawings, schematics, BOM’s, assembly drawings.
- Design PCB’s (OrCad, Allegro)
- Investigate new emerging technologies and how they can be used in the latest Sound Level Meters.
- Planning and verification testing of new products.
The Person
The ideal candidate will have the following skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering
- Proven experience in circuit design, including microcontrollers, however we welcome applications from recent graduates with an interest in circuit design.
- Experience of designing low power circuitry for battery powered products.
- Proven experience in PCB design.
- Experience of designing enclosures and mechanical design using CAD.
- Proven experience of designing and delivering a product through a complete lifecycle.
The following skills are not essential but would be welcome:
- Mechanical design experience (2D or 3D) Solidworks and AutoCad.
- Design of ATEX and intrinsically safe products.
The Package
Salary offered is circa £25k to £35k depending on experience, plus additional benefits including pension scheme, death in service. medical scheme. active social club, company performance linked bonus and discounted gym membership.
