Electro-Mechanical Technician

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Must attend and stay current on all safety training including, LOTO Line Breaking, Hot Work and Confined Space.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance tasks (PM’s), diagnose, and replace production equipment sensors (i.e., photoeyes, limit switches, proximity sensors, pressure switches) as needed
  • Diagnose and resolve lighting issues
  • Repair electrical system defects (i.e. junction boxes, seal tight, conduit connections, terminal strips / blocks, wiring connections)
  • Evaluate problems with machinery, equipment, physical structure, pipe and electrical systems, pneumatic and hydraulic systems and determine optimal means for resolving problems.
  • Perform installation and repair work as assigned by work orders approved by the maintenance and/or department managers.
  • Use blueprints, manuals and schematic drawings extensively as guides for performing installation, repair and preventative maintenance work.
  • Record information about work completed on the work order and enters information in the computer database system.
  • Schedule and perform preventative maintenance work.
  • Work with vendors and contractors as directed and authorized by maintenance lead or manager.
  • Operates an electric power jack, electric forklift, and LP gas forklift.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of and adheres to all safety rules and procedures.
  • Medium to advance knowledge of working with PLC.
  • Perform other related duties assigned by management.
