DESCRIPTION
Scuderia Toro Rosso is looking for a professional Electrical System Designer driven by passion for motorsports who will join the Electronics Department.
The Electrical System Designer has the responsibility to design the electrical system, creating the schemes and defining the layout for wiring, sensors and electric actuators production.
The successful candidate will use for the layout definition CAD for electrical system modelling. For the realization of the diagrams he/she will use the information provided by data sources regarding the communication lines, pin-outs, automatic controls, on-board instrumentation, regulatory constraints...
He/she will deal with the design and modelling of mechanical components and composite materials needed for electrical car system installation.
He/she will also deal with the design of the instrumentation for the test benches used in several departments of the company, including for example R&D, gearbox and hydraulics, suspensions, brakes. To do this, you will need to select the necessary components, create the schematics, define the layouts following the technical specifications provided by the departments requesting the instrumentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Selection of electronic components for car electrical system
- Design of the electrical system layout using 3D CAD modelling
- Design of wiring diagrams for car systems
- Design and modelling of mechanical and composite materials for electrical installation
- Selection of electronic components for electrical instrumentation test benches
- Design of the layout of the electrical test bench using 3D CAD modelling
- Design of electrical schemes for test bench plant
Requirements:
- Knowledge of CAD NX Unigraphics software
- CAD cable modelling tool (routing electrical)
- Modelling of mechanical and composite materials (including models / mould)
- Knowledge of materials / products used for the production of wiring in the motorsport environment
- Knowledge of the functioning and components of the electric system of a race car
- Design of the diagrams of the racing car electrical system
- Degree in electrical engineering or similar
- Fluent in English
- Past experience in similar roles
