Electrical/Mechatronics Engineer IV

Position Overview:

An exciting role exists for an electrical/mechatronics engineer within the Powered Vehicles Group (PVG) Advanced Development Team at FOX. The Advanced Development Team creates, develops and implements new technologies for a range of FOX markets including motorcycles, off-road vehicles, ATVs, snowmobiles, automobiles and future transportation modes. The team also functions as a resource for technical capabilities such as computer simulation, data analysis and hardware/software/electronics proto-typing for the overall organization. As a result, the Advance Technology Team works collaboratively with all PVG business groups.

The candidate will be instrumental in the development of innovative concepts and next generation IP. Being part of a small team he or she must be a creative, forward thinker that is dedicated to advancing the technological capabilities of FOX. The candidate must also demonstrate a relevant and highly motivated work history. 

Responsibilities include but not limited to:
• Independently manage technical projects 
• Effectively collaborate with cross functional teams 
• Design/Implementation of electromechanical, electrohydraulic systems 
• Design/implementation of electronic actuators, motors, servos, etc.
• Implementation of microcontrollers, drivers, sensors and other components
• Sensor integration including but not limited to accelerometers, gyros, IMUs and position sensors
• Control algorithm development
• Signal processing/Data analysis
• Review PCB schematics/design and provide feedback on potential issues 
• Diagnosing issues/problems of electronic systems 
• Design/build prototypes and proof of concept technology demonstrators 
• Outfitting vehicles with data acquisition systems and analysis of collected data to verify performance

Preferred Experience:
Experience/ familiarity with any of the following is preferred: 
• Experience and understanding of suspension and shock design is highly preferred
• Active & semi-active suspension design and development
• Knowledge and understanding of suspension design and vehicle dynamics 
• Experience with software version control methods
• Software tools such as Matlab/Simulink, Labview
• Programming languages such as C and Python
• Mechanical component design 
• Wireless protocols such as Bluetooth, Ant+ , WiFi, IEEE 802.15.4
• Sensor selection and design
• Filter design
• Real time signal analysis methods and implementation
