Description
Description: Tesla is looking for an amazing electrical engineer to lead the design, deployment, and support of automated and semi-automated manufacturing test equipment. You will create outstanding product solutions that inter-operate with a variety of manufacturing, electronics, and firmware subsystems. The position is based at Tesla’s game-changing Gigafactory1 outside of Reno, Nevada.
Responsibilities
- Design manufacturing test machines for products ranging from battery through high powered electronics assemblies.
- Drive ultra-reliable, cost effective designs that beat schedules.
- Ensure test machines provide effective testing coverage, meet up time needs, and reduce cycle time requirements for high volume manufacturing.
- Drive continuously increasing test automation, including robotics and actuator based test systems.
- Design test systems that are resilient from device under test issues, and challenging power conditions present in high volume factories worldwide.
- Design power electronics measurement and analysis systems to ensure top quality delivery to every customer.
- Develop tester safety systems using interlocks and other safety design techniques as appropriate.
- Create outstanding documentation packages, train others in the maintenance and long term usage of the test systems.
- Drive external partners including tester assembly houses and contract manufacturers worldwide.
- Qualify testers for deployment to a long life of high quality results
