Electrical/Electronics Engineer – Powertrain & Vehicle Systems

 

Engineer responsible for the design and development of Electrical and Electronic Systems and subsystems, reporting to the Engineering Manager/Chief Programme Engineer.

Qualifications:

  • Engineering degree or equivalent and relevant experience.

Responsibilities/Requirements:

  • Liaise between RTL personnel and the Customer to ensure drawings and designs meet or exceed the
  • Customer’s expectations for manufacturing and assembly feasibility, quality and design intent, and ensure all deliverables and targets set by the Customer and RTL are met.
  • Define, develop and refine original design concept, prepare FMEAs to ensure system performance and robustness, and maintain hands on electrical systems integration.
  • Electrical and Electronic Systems design and development. These systems may include Control
  • Systems, CAN Networks, Interior Systems, EMC, High Voltage Systems, Wiring and Loom Development.
  • Prepare release and sign-off documentation, specifications and procurement of parts and ensure testing to meet project/programme requirements.
  • Be aware of the capabilities of RTL activities co-ordinating support when appropriate while being responsible for the resource definition and allocation for projects to ensure efficient use and compliance with budget estimates.
  • Ensure engineering changes are implemented into production by liaison with suppliers, purchasing and manufacturing plants.
  • Work in accordance with all Health & Safety and Quality & Environmental policies affecting the working area and providing guidance to team members.
  • Demonstrate ambition, flexibility and confidence with creativity, imagination, a desire to learn and a willingness to take on added responsibility together with strong team leadership, communication and team working skills.
  • Perform other duties judged to be within your capabilities by your Manager.

All of the above to be performed as part of a team utilising PC based project management tools for planning, tracking, and general documentation of the design and development function. The engineer will also be responsible for the input of resource definition and allocation for projects to ensure efficient use and compliance with budget estimates. Although most work will be carried out from existing Revolve and customer facilities, short duration travel should be expected.
