This position will report to the Director of Technical Services and support the Division 4 Director who is based in the Dallas, TX area. This position can be remotely located with the Division 4 area which is comprised of the following states: Arkansas, Louisiana, MIssissippi, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas.
Responsibilities:
The responsibilities include providing technical inspection support at divisional events and select NHRA national events. You will collaborate with the corporate staff and work directly with race teams, manufacturers, and other members of the Tech Department to review and discuss acceptance of new components, development of new rules and requirements and the generation and evaluation of performance data. In addition, you will provide technical support via telephone and e-mail to racers; supervise staff at race events as needed; and perform chassis inspections. This position requires significant travel nationwide to include working 25 weekends throughout the year and working long hours outdoors in extreme weather.
Qualifications:
Qualifications include a strong understanding of automobiles and their various components including 2 years of work experience, preferably in the motorsports industry, and/or a 2 year automotive technical degree. Must have strong communication skills and be proficient with MS programs including Excel.
