Director of Advanced Manufacturing

Position Overview:

FOX Factory, Inc., a fast-growing and dynamic company in Braselton, GA (30517) has an exciting opportunity for a Director of Advanced Manufacturing.

Reporting directly to the Vice President of Advanced Manufacturing, the position of Director, Advanced Manufacturing has a global and strategic focus for the FOX Powered Vehicles group. As a key member of the manufacturing team, the Director of Advanced Manufacturing will provide operations leadership to an advanced manufacturing engineering team while utilizing lean manufacturing methodology as the cornerstone of the daily activities required to deliver world class manufacturing efficiencies and results in four key areas (safety, quality, delivery, and productivity.) The Director, Advanced Manufacturing will also have concentrated focus in the effective application of Automation and Robotics when applicable.

Principle Responsibilities:

  • Apply technical skills for performance and production resolution of high-end-off road shocks and related components with limited supervision.
  • Focus efforts of the of the manufacturing engineering team to result in substantial, proven:
  • Cost reduction
  • Standardization of similar products, processes, and equipment
  • Robustness and quality improvement of product design for manufacturing and maintainability *
  • Establish and lead the advanced manufacturing engineering team to obtain optimum productivity while reaching strategic goals
  • Utilize, drive, and promote effective manufacturing engineering principles to ensure the delivery of business objectives and a culture of continuous improvement for all FOX Power Vehicles sites.
  • Improve tooling/fixtures, processes and labor standards for high reliability low volume and high mix product line(s), as well as high volume, low mix OE products for automotive customers.
  • Develop a world-class manufacturing engineering organization by providing training, coaching and counseling, and top grading as appropriate.
  • Ensure Internal and External customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO-IATF requirements and other industry standards.
  • Serve as a technical contact with internal and external customers, manufacturing, manufacturing engineering, quality assurance, product support, material, and suppliers ensuring their satisfaction.
  • Implement performance, cost, quality and consistency improvements in products and process during and after their design phase.
  • Coordinates the analysis of data from returned mechanical components and implement improvements to increase the reliability of the components, minimizing the number of returned units.
  • Be able to work in a team environment and demonstrate support of teamwork, cooperation, respect, and integrity
  • Prepare manufacturing/production plan for new designs, as well as existing design for which total lead-time exceeds productivity standards.
  • Collaborate with peers and manager to determine key goals and objectives, and corresponding metrics, to be completed during a determined period in line with long-term strategic company vision.
  • Review and amend these actions as appropriate. Focus on timely achievement of these goals and objectives.
  • Ability to communicate and engage with all levels of the company in a productive and collaborative approach.
