Development Test Contingent Engineer

Honda Performance Development, Inc., a leader in motorsports racing is seeking a highly organized and detailed oriented Development Test Contingent Engineer to join its Racing program in Santa Clarita, California.

Responsibilities include plan, coordinate, perform, gather and analyze data and report on testing activities relating to engine development including, cost, function, performance, drivability and/or reliability per project goals.

Requirements include Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering with at least 3-5 years’ experience in Internal Combustion Engines or a Master’s degree or equivalent; Minimum 3- 5 years experience with development and testing of engines including test planning and procedures, data acquisition and analysis. Engineering discipline knowledge including control systems, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, statics and dynamics, and internal combustion engine fundamentals and theory a plus. Microsoft Excel skills including ability to write VBA subroutines/code/macros. Experience modifying ECU calibration values to achieve improved engine performance, emissions, or reliability a plus.

Must have the ability to plan, organize, schedule and coordinate activities for self-based on an evaluation of work needs and an estimation of timing and create efficient test procedures, specifying the necessary data acquisition and analyze the results to reach an accurate conclusion and present suggestions for follow-up work. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to work in team environment and able to work under minimal supervision; ability to be self-directed, detailed oriented who can effectively work well under pressure in a diverse environment.
