POSITION SUMMARY

Hendrick Motorsports, a championship-winning NASCAR operation, is currently seeking a self-starting individual to join an innovative and engaged group of Mechanical Design Engineers within the Engine Engineering Group. You will create and deliver engineering solutions with precision in a timely manner to drive reliability and competitiveness. The successful candidate will be an analytical problem solver, while also possessing the necessary soft skills that enable success in this field.

Essential Functions

  • Generate 3D CAD models, Assemblies and 2D drawings to define and document design intent.
  • Perform linear static and dynamic structural analysis to optimize designed components.
  • Support documentation through the creation of bills of materials and standard work instructions.
  • Utilize a portable measurement arm and laser scanner to reverse engineer components.
  • Collaborate with internal and external manufacturers to ensure accurate and timely production.
  • Be a role model for the mindset and behaviors necessary to create an environment of trust, commitment, and accountability.
  • Ability to operate within a dynamic, fast paced, highly variable business.
  • Knowledge of internal combustion engine fundamentals would be an advantage.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Design or Automotive Engineering Required

Experience: 5+ years of experience in a related field and industry

Computer Skills: Knowledge in the following software programs: Teamcenter, Siemens NX, Microsoft Office Suite, PC DMIS, and Adobe Acrobat.
