The Position:

We are looking to enhance our Programme Management Department at our Race Team Hub in Banbury, UK. This is a fast-paced and challenging opportunity for a team-oriented Data Quality Engineer to make a substantial impact within a small team.

General Summary:

Working within the cross functional Programme Management Group, this position reports to the PLM manager or their designee and is located in Banbury. Responsible for the location and quality of the data generated and consumed within the Haas business process, this role is integral to the efficiency of the Team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote teamwork and effective communications to develop working relationships between all personnel and departments.
  • Measure and help maintain a set of key data attributes in the PLM, ERP and Lifing Systems and work to ensure that they are accurate an up to date across these systems.
  • Manage the storage locations of data pertinent to the Haas business process.
  • Manage the CAD data import and export processes ensuring the turnaround time, data quality and notification broadcasts are in line with the demands of the business process.
  • Constantly monitor for data duplication across Haas systems and strive to ensure that we manage data within a “single source of data truth” philosophy.
  • Look for areas of data misalignment, work to find the root cause and help engineer solutions that will lead to accurate data alignment.
  • Work across the business and help define the sets of key data attributes needed for each of the business processes and ensure that their population is in line with the quality needed.
  • Generate a set of KPIs (Conformance and Performance) that help measure the population status of key data attributes across the systems landscapes
  • Help define a set of data quality standards for the data that we manage across the team and perform deep analysis on this data ensuring that it is managed to the quality standards required by the business process.
  • Follow all safety regulations in all venues.
  • Other duties as assigned by the PLM manager or their designee.

Education and Work Experience:

  • GCSE, High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Further education including University Degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering desired.
  • Preferably 4 years of experience in automotive or aerospace industry as a member of a digital engineering department or PMO group.
  • Prior experience in Formula One is advantageous.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong technical background in data management, data manipulation and business processes.
  • Mechanical or Aeronautical engineering background required to ensure data can be related to engineering situations.
  • Understanding of digital engineering is beneficial.
  • Needs to be proactive, flexible, organized and able to prioritize own workload.
  • Work to a consistently high standard in stressful and time sensitive situations.
  • Quick decision-making skills whilst working through problems in a scientific and analytical way.
  • Work well in a team environment with personnel at all levels.
  • A sympathetic approach to your work colleagues and an ability to integrate within a group environment.
  • A can-do positive approach and a willingness to help others is essential.

Equipment and Applications:

  • Solid computer knowledge with experience in Microsoft Office products, PLM systems (3DExperience) and ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics AX).
  • Awareness of database operations and methods for data comparison.
  • Ability to prepare and present effective presentations of complex subjects to a diverse audience.
  • Ability to follow complex regulations related to shipment of materials.

Work Environment Physical Demands:

An ability to work and prioritize within a high pressure, time sensitive environment while retaining a methodical approach is essential. The role may require some, international travel and a willingness to work long and flexible hours including weekends.

This position may require lifting to 50 pounds, repeated bending, squatting and manual dexterity. Fast-paced work environment requiring heavy mental demands. Work environment includes machinery, race cars, 7-post and other rigs, grinding debris, and hazardous fluids. All employees must ensure compliance with the Company Health and Safety Policy, and all relevant other statutory Health and Safety legislation.
