Cummins are now recruiting for our 2020 intake of 12 month placements in the UK, whichprovide a meaningful opportunity for university students to accomplish real-world projects in a professional environment.
The responsibilities of this role will include :-
- Leading product issue resolution projects, following the 7 step investigation process including Fault tree analysis, field data analysis and route cause analysis.
- Chairing all fault tree analysis meetings for all team members projects.
- Supporting ‘scene of crime’ field visits for any product issues reported.
- Vehicle and test cell data analysis using Cummins own analysis tools and Matlab.
- Working closely with engine business current product and customer support teams reporting project progress.
- Working with engineering functional experts depending on the project to understand the assignable cause and drive a resolution for the end users in a timely manner.
- Leading/supporting system dyno cell testing depending on project needs.
- Involvement in the placement student team community involvement team planning charity and local community support events.
Qualifications
- Studying BEng (honors) in any of the following Mechanical, Chemical, Automotive, Aerospace, Electrical, Motorsport
- Detailed understanding of aftertreatment architecture, each catalysts function and controls.
- Training in the 7 step engineering problem solving process and its associated tools.
- Exposure to the six sigma investigation and validation tool box.
- Presentation and communication skills.
- Tools and skills specific to the role.
