Blanchard Racing Team (BRT) is the youngest team in the Supercars Championship pit lane. BRT has expanded its presence in the 2024 Supercars Championship by expanding to a two-car line up.
Based in Box Hill, VIC, Blanchard Racing Team (BRT) is currently seeking a motivated Race Team Crew Chief on a full-time. The primary responsibility of overseeing the workshop and preparation to get our mustangs racing!
The successful candidate will work closely with the Team Manager and Engineering Manager, and be part of our traveling crew, attending all Repco Supercars Championship events.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Managing and overseeing the car build, maintenance, and repairs of our racing cars and equipment, both in the workshop based in Box Hill and on the track during the championship schedule.
- Overseeing all spare components, maintaining the stores area, and ordering supplies to ensure the mechanical crew has what they need to complete their tasks to the highest standard.
- Planning and overseeing the workload of the mechanics, recognizing priorities while setting clear goals and objectives within the team.
- Developing and implementing an effective work ethic within the team.
- Supervising and leading the mechanical crew, providing guidance, training, and assistance as needed.
- Setting and respecting deadlines while promoting teamwork and a positive learning environment.
- Working closely with the Engineering Department to seek solutions and ensure each car build meets the highest standards.
- Driving and overseeing the pit stop crew, including their training and fitness each week at the workshop and at events.
- Collaborating with the Blanchard Racing Team to complete all mechanical tasks as directed to meet timelines and satisfy the expectations and obligations of the Supercar Championship schedule.
- Performing allocated and scheduled work in accordance with quality standards.
- Participating in race repairs and pit stops.
- Overseeing the condition and presentation of the workshop on-site and at race meets
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- A minimum of 3 years’ leadership experience and mechanical experience in Supercars or another high-level motorsport series team environment is essential.
- A strong desire to provide excellent mechanical knowledge and diagnosis, with the ability to present and communicate information clearly.
- Ability to work cohesively within a team environment, as well as independently on tasks when required.
- Ability to work in a time-sensitive and high-pressure environment.
