Job Description

IMSA seeks a talented professional to join in the position of Coordinator, IMSA Communications based in our Daytona Beach, FL corporate offices. 

SUMMARY

This position is responsible for creation of compelling content including IMSA.com copy, that showcases the sanctioning body in a positive manner at all times. This position develops, writes, produces, edits, markets, and coordinates original content over multiple communication platforms to inform target audiences about IMSA.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

Play leadership role in developing and executing comprehensive social/digital media plan that is year-round effort.

Create compelling, concise, eye-catching, and innovative body copy and headlines for IMSA.com and other IMSA outlets. Copy needs to be innovative and original.

Consistently collaborate with team for new ideas and strategies and work with team to organize writing schedule to complete drafts and finished products within deadlines

Build a following for the IMSA brand on social media with creative work

Collaborate with other departments on content to insure information accurately reflects company ideals. 

Development and planning the strategy of IMSA’s digital and social content.

Take an active independent role in the communications efforts of the IMSA Prototype Challenge. This includes coverage of races, pitching stories regarding drivers, teams and stakeholders.

Responsible for the maintaining and updating of the historical records database of IMSA races and events. Distribute pre-event statistical packages for broadcast and media usage.

Writes, edits, and distributes assigned press releases to e-mail lists, the website and the media website. Support department resources by maintaining and updating of media lists on Constant Contact that are used to distribute various releases and news.

Compiles information/content for the yearly media guide or media website and playas integral role in ensuring completion of media guide materials.

Create and maintain media outlet and driver information databases.

Oversees creation and distribution of event-based media kits.

Assist at track social media content planning, gathering and posting

Other duties may be assigned.

Approximate travel requited: 50%, including some weekends.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job helps supervises any department interns and track volunteers that work in their respective media centers.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in Public Relations / Communications / Journalism / English is preferred.  One to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
