Controls Engineer

We are currently seeking a talented Controls Engineer to join us as we work in collaboration with recognised industry leaders in EV technology. To be successful you will have an innovative and ‘hands on’ approach gained within a motorsport or high-end niche automotive, software / control engineering environment and have eligibility to work in the UK.

You will be a great communicator, comfortable working under pressure, excited and passionate to deliver within a high performing team environment. You will also be flexible to travel internationally if required.

The Role
The Controls Engineer will be responsible for developing the electric vehicle control software, supporting the vehicle integration and testing activities for the project to achieve new solutions, responsibilities will include

  • Developing control algorithms for the powertrain supervisory vehicle control unit
  • Designing control algorithms for vehicle supervisory functions including Torque Delivery, Regenerative Braking Control and Energy Management
  • Supporting the development of software for other vehicle parts such as: cooling, heating, charging
  • Analysing and evaluating embedded software systems
  • Developing model based designs using Matlab / Simulink / Stateflow
  • Developing software requirements from system level functional requirements
  • Acting as an ambassador driving continuous improvement in software integration, people, safety and efficiency

Our Technical Requirements
You will have a degree or equivalent in Motorsport, Software or Control with experience in designing control algorithms for embedded real time systems preferably for automotive applications using Matlab, Simulink and /or Stateflow.

You will rise to the challenge of leading the resolution of complex technical issues within a creative and collaborative environment.You will also have knowledge and experience of functional safety and software compliance, working with electric motors, inverters and batteries together with high / low voltage systems of electric vehicles.
