Position Purpose

The Community Relations and Marketing Manager (CRM) will manage all Chicagoland Speedway and Route 66 Raceway community marketing initiatives and engagement activities.  The role will manage relationships and programming with all community based partners and stakeholders.  Lead all grass roots promotional efforts to drive interest and awareness around the business unit’s portfolio of events and provide overall support to the Consumer Marketing department’s needs.  The Manager will be charged with ensuring the Chicagoland Speedway and Route 66 Raceway brands are appropriately represented at all offsite events while generating prospect data building and fostering relationships.  As part of the role’s community focused oversight, the CRM will develop, manage and explore new opportunities for the BU’s RACE platform, a non-profit donor advised program which partners with the NASCAR Foundation to support community based charitable initiatives.   

The CRM will work in tandem with the Director of Partnership Marketing and Event Development to create and execute impactful content and thematic across the BU’s owned and operated events with the goal of enhancing the guest experience, cultivating media interest, and ultimately driving admissions revenue.       

In addition, the CRM will work in conjunction with all team members to contribute to or manage any assigned Marketing tasks or programs which may include digital programming, content creation or event execution.  

Management Responsibilities

  • Manage all Community partners and programs including but not limited to Downtown Joliet Event Planning, Heritage Corridor CVB, Enjoy IL, Red Carpet Corridor, All Route 66 Planning Groups and any additional community groups as assigned 
  • Secure support, content and assets from Community Partners to support, engage or enhance the fan experience at our events 
  • Manage the CLS and Route 66 Raceway Grass Roots events and schedule, Showcar Program, Mascot Program, Kids Club and Kids Club Reading Program.  Manages all assets, scheduling, labor, permits and all associated with all activations 
  • Lead all BU RACE campaigns, finances and programming efforts
  • Assists with our internal community events (planning and implementation of employee events) 
  • Research and hire volunteer groups to work and support RACE 50/50 Raffle Programs  
  • Oversee the RACE Grant and Donation Application Program 
  • Writes and submit Grant Applications for any available funding grants for any Chicagoland Speedway or Route 66 Raceway events
  • Build and manage relevant departmental programming budgets and expenses  
  • Write, edit and proofing of stories, releases, recaps or any other form of communication needed for any event, program or initiative 
  • Assists with Communications planning and event execution including assistance with Media tracking and/or recaps 
  • Coordinate with local vendors to support infrastructure for event needs 

Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks

  • Outreach plan to designated community partners and event managers to generate brand and event awareness and/or event inclusion and impressions 
  • Ensure all branding, logos and marketing content are up to standards on advertising sites, partner sites, internal websites, social media channels and communications
  • Timely Management of responses to grant applicants and donation requests 
  • Oversee process and execution of all RACE initiatives, showcar program and promotion displays  
  • Responsible for the budget planning, management, ABI and Webnow process
  • Engage staff by sharing information on a timely basis via open and clear communication
  • All other Marketing or Communications programs as assigned or needed 

Performance Measures

  • Meet or Exceed Impressions generated through Community Programs 
  • Meet or Exceed 50/50 Raffle and RACE Fund Raising Goals 
  • Meet or Exceed prospect data goals for each assigned event 
  • Utilize GEM Survey Results to gauge customer feedback against key areas of oversight; create action plans to enhance fan experience 
  • Successful execution of Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks as identified above
  • Fulfillment of Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks within budget parameters
