Commercial Strategy Manager

The Position:

We are currently seeking a Commercial Strategy Manager.

Reporting to the Senior Commercial Strategy Manager, as Commercial Strategy Manager you will work closely with senior members of the Commercial Team, the candidate will be responsible for the development and delivery of insight-driven prospective partner proposals and pitches to support the overarching commercial and partnership strategy of Williams Racing.

Working in a fast-paced environment, the candidate will play a significant role in delivering best in class, creative proposals that differentiate Williams Racing amongst its competitors and help to secure on-brand partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Working with the Commercial Team on developing prospect brief’s and leading on the development of high-quality, insight-driven prospect proposals and pitches.
  • Define prospects business and brand objectives through research and develop engaging brand narratives and activation concepts to deliver compelling commercial opportunities.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the Williams Racing commercial and brand strategies to ensure output reinforces our brand positioning and always has points of differentiation in a crowded market.
  • Understand and utilise proprietary brand research and syndicated market research tools and intelligence platforms to generate insights that inform activation strategy and solve the challenges faced by prospective partners.
  • Ideate new activation assets and platforms to commercialise with partners.
  • Work alongside the fan engagement team in New York to understand how new digital assets and fan experiences (e.g. new app, AR assets and fan pop-ups) can be aligned to prospect objectives and strategy.
  • Continuously improve the communication of the commercial strategy to internal stakeholders through the development and management of documentation including rate-cards, rights and assets matrixes and valuations.
  • Ensuring all documentation development is manage efficiently and on time to ensure the Commercial Team can react to market demands.

To be considered for this position, you must have:

  • Minimum of 4 years within an agency environment either marketing, advertising or sports.
  • A marketing or related business degree.
  • Has a creative mind set and able to demonstrate an understanding of business needs.
  • High level of IT literacy including MS Office and Adobe Suite.
  • Capable of representing the team’s interests credibly, capably and creatively.
  • Familiar with the commercial working environment.
  • Adaptable to a dynamic, fast paced department with high demands on document development.
  • High attention to detail and comfortable managing and working with data sets.
  • Ability to work with multiple internal stakeholders and to tight deadlines.
