CNC Turner

Ceewrite Engineering are one of the south’s leading Precision CNC Machinists specializing in work for Aerospace, Industrial, Motorsport and Defense based on Portland, Dorset. 
Due to long term ongoing projects and new business we have an exciting opportunity for a number of CNC Turners to join the team. The role will report directly to our Production Manager.

Skills and Experience: 
This demanding role would suit someone with previous work experience in precision engineering, together with a proven background running CNC Lathes. The successful candidate will have clear, articulate communication skills and be confident and able to interact across all levels of the business.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Analyse and solve manufacturing problems
    • Run and maintain multiple Turning Centres simultaneously
    • Set-up variety of machine tools including fixture alignment for respective parts to be processed, tools such as drills, endmills, boring bars, universal drills and turning tools
    • Verify dimensions of processed products for accuracy and conformance to specifications and maintain quality control standards
    • Read and interpret drawings of machined parts
    • Responsible for visual tool inspection and establish the necessary tool offsets in the CNC controls depending on tool geometry
    • Maintain and calibrate precision measuring instruments such as dial indicators, fixed gauges, calipers, depth gauges, and other measuring devices using specific set masters
    • Suggest methods to increase productivity and profitability
    • Report deviations from the specifications and tolerances as well as unusual conditions of parts, tools and machines to Supervisor
    • Maintain safe and efficient operations
    • Adhere to posted cleanliness and maintenance schedules
    • Communicate with management
    • Any reasonable task as requested by the shift supervisor or manager
