Due to long term ongoing projects and new business we have an exciting opportunity for a number of CNC Turners to join the team. The role will report directly to our Production Manager.
Skills and Experience:
This demanding role would suit someone with previous work experience in precision engineering, together with a proven background running CNC Lathes. The successful candidate will have clear, articulate communication skills and be confident and able to interact across all levels of the business.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Analyse and solve manufacturing problems
- Run and maintain multiple Turning Centres simultaneously
- Set-up variety of machine tools including fixture alignment for respective parts to be processed, tools such as drills, endmills, boring bars, universal drills and turning tools
- Verify dimensions of processed products for accuracy and conformance to specifications and maintain quality control standards
- Read and interpret drawings of machined parts
- Responsible for visual tool inspection and establish the necessary tool offsets in the CNC controls depending on tool geometry
- Maintain and calibrate precision measuring instruments such as dial indicators, fixed gauges, calipers, depth gauges, and other measuring devices using specific set masters
- Suggest methods to increase productivity and profitability
- Report deviations from the specifications and tolerances as well as unusual conditions of parts, tools and machines to Supervisor
- Maintain safe and efficient operations
- Adhere to posted cleanliness and maintenance schedules
- Communicate with management
- Any reasonable task as requested by the shift supervisor or manager
