CNC Operator

Duties to be Performed:

  • Support the production of CNC-ported cylinder heads; prepare castings for CNC-porting process.
  • Plan workflow, organize cylinder head castings for machining, and operate CNC machining centers.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and maintain the readiness of the CNC machining equipment by indicating axis, testing and resetting backlash of rotaries, etc.
  • Disassemble, clean, and prepare used cylinder head castings for CNC-porting.
  • Assist in packaging shipments.
  • Work with production team and company management to improve efficiency, productivity, and help control costs of the CNC-porting operation.
  • Other duties assigned as needed.

Skills and Abilities Needed:

  • Proficient use of Fadal 4- and 5-axis CNC equipment plus gauging and inspection equipment.
  • Proficient use of MS Windows programs.
  • Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness in assigned tasks; monitor work constantly to ensure it meets prescribed quality standards.
  • Search for ways to improve and promote quality; apply feedback to improve personal performance.
  • Complete work in a timely manner; meet productivity standards; work efficiently.
  • Observe safety and security procedures; report potentially unsafe or insecure conditions or procedures to company management.
  • Be able to adapt positively to changes in the work environment and with frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Must be well organized with good housekeeping habits.

Experience / Education Required:

Qualified candidates will possess a minimum of a High School Diploma or possess equivalent CNC Operation Training. Must have prior experience with measuring and gauging equipment. Use of Fadal equipment, 5-axis machining, and a strong knowledge of automotive cylinder head machining experience a plus.
