The Centre of Excellence machine shop is part of the newly formed EBC Brakes Racing sub-division. This arm of EBC is responsible for the research and development and the production of high-performance brake systems and individual components, such as automotive 2-piece brake discs, performance brake calipers and vehicle specific ‘Big Brake Kits’.
Specifically, the Centre of Excellence machine shop is responsible for the development and production of aluminium hubs as used in 2-piece brake discs and also aluminium brackets to locate the brake caliper, as used in an EBC Big Brake Kit.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Operating CNC mills and lathes;
• Assisting with maintaining raw material stock and re-order on a computer system (training will be provided);
• Working with Works Orders and to deadlines;
• Ensuring machines are kept in good working order, monitoring consumables as required;
• Notifying your Team Leader of any imminent machine issues/failures/servicing and maintenance requirements;
• Maintaining and encouraging a clean, tidy and safe work place at all times and especially before external photographers visit or have a tour of the facilities;
• Ensuring that health and safety guidelines are followed;
• Reporting all incidents (spills, accidents, poor performance);
• Performing other duties as assigned or as the situation dictates.
