CNC Maintenance Technician

An opportunity has arisen to join our Maintenance Team as a CNC Maintenance Technician to support production equipment/facilities with a view to continuous production/improvement. Implementing and carrying out detailed scheduled preventative maintenance, ensuring a smooth running of the facility, reporting status on a daily basis. Based on a rolling 3 shift pattern. 

Specific Responsibilities 

  • Electrical/Mechanical skills required for maintenance of CNC machine tools and associated manufacturing equipment.
  • Electrical and mechanical maintenance support of AMC and other local facilities.
  • Risk assessment of all duties and development of all Health and Safety requirements to include standard methods of work to ensure safe working practices.
  • Assess root cause of plant failure and implement effective countermeasures using FMEA.
  • Identify critical spares requirements and carry out TPM program.

Skills, Experience and Character 

The successful candidate will have: 

  • Electrical/Mechanical with a proven experience in working with Fanuc, Siemens and Mitsubishi controls on CNC machine tools. ABB / Fanuc robot cells and/or FMS systems advantageous but training will be provided for the right candidate.
  • Carrying out systematic fault-finding on all plant machinery and ancillary equipment. Implementing TPM and Planning preventative maintenance schedules for all equipment.
  • Vocational qualification minimum NVQ Level 3, HNC, HND, ONC with an appropriate apprenticeship in electrical/mechanical engineering a must.
  • 17 th Edition regulations desirable.
  • Good strong working knowledge of machine tools and line interfaces.
  • Ability to work as part of a team or alone and capable of sharing knowledge with solid fault-finding capabilities.
  • Good communication skills with PC experience in using Excel and Word.
  • CNC Field based engineering experience/background desirable.
