Purpose of the Role:
To manufacture high quality carbon inserts and rohacell cores for our F1 race car.
Principal Accountabilities:
Manufacture of carbon inserts and rohacell cores against supplied CAD data, including full
Production engineering of rohacell, carbon and foam
Tool setting and management
Fixture design and manufacture to aid production
Operation of both 3-axis and 5-axis machines, often concurrently to support demand and department efficiency
Maintaining program set-up sheets and tooling records for all components produced
Liaising with supervision to maximise the efficient running of the machine tools
Maintaining cleanliness and housekeeping in the workplace, including compliance with 3s standards
Job requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Either have completed a relevant apprenticeship or be an experienced craftsperson with a proven track record
Experience with the manufacturing carbon inserts and rohacell cores and foams
Experience using HyperMill & Delcam Powermill to produce complex machine tool paths on 3-axis and 5-axis machine tools and the design and modelling of machine fixtures and cradles for component manufacture
