CMM Inspector

About Us:

We have an immediate opening for a CMM Inspection Manager & Programmer to join our Quality Team based in our Machining Division. We are a world class manufacturer of high-quality machined cast components. Our advanced manufacturing capabilities and committed engineering team supports leading Motorsport, Automotive OEM’s and Defence customers globally prototype and low volume components.

The role:

  • Lead all inspection actives within our Machining Metrology Department to ensure high quality conforming components.
  • Create offline CMM programs to qualify complex geometry close tolerance components.
  • Accurately measure products using a CMM and manually hand held measurement tools including height gauges, vernier’s, and shadow graphs.
  • Communicate effectively with machining team inspection results and deviations from product drawings. In this role, you will most importantly need to be confident in your ability and decisions making to sign off product.
  • Liaise with customers and our engineering team understand to fully product inspection requirements. Create quality documentation including First Article Inspection, ISIR and critical dimensions reports to customer specifications.
  • Work to ISO 9001:2015 quality management systems, performing internal audits and driving continuous improvement throughout our inspection department.
  • By adapt to operating within a fast-paced machine shop and inspection environment as team player.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Experience creating offline CMM programming and inspecting complex geometry tight tolerance components.
  • Background of mechanical biased engineering within an inspection department using modern CMM technology and manual handheld equipment tools as verniers, micrometres ect.
  • Knowledge of working to ISO 9001: 2015 quality managements systems and promoting continuous improvement.
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with internal team and external customers.

What we offer:

Salary: Permanent immediate position on days with a starting salary of £38,000 to up £45,000 dependent upon experience.

Holidays: 22 days (inclusive on Bank Holidays) per year.

Hours: Full-Time, 40 hrs per week.
