Classic Car Auto Electrician

Ramsport UK Ltd are looking for a qualified and experienced Auto-Electrician to join our highly talented team in our Denbighshire workshop.

The successful candidate will be applying their talents to some of the most iconic classic cars ever built and will play a vital role in ensuring that the safety, reliability and durability of all electrical systems and components onboard these vehicles is maximised.

The age and nature of these vehicles demands an auto-electrician who is capable of adapting to and overcoming a great deal of unusual and unpredictable obstacles. This is not a role suited to someone who is dependent upon instructions and diagrams. The successful candidate will recognise the importance in the preservation of originality even where wiring looms and electrical components are concerned and will be well practiced in finding creative solutions to restore, rather than replace even the most minor of components. Additionally, the successful candidate must recognise that pure functionality is not acceptable alone; their work must be implemented in the most thought-out, efficient and tidy manner possible.

Additionally, this role requires a strong capability in the dismantling and reconstruction of high value vehicles; a necessary step in carrying out auto-electrical work as well as assisting colleagues in other areas.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of going above and beyond the expectations of their colleagues, superiors and customers. A sense of personal pride is essential, and a keen personal interest in both classic cars themselves and the process of conducting restorations.

At ramsport we take immense pride in producing restorations that few can hope to rival and we enjoy nothing more than allowing others to appreciate our work. We therefore regularly opt to display our work at shows and festivals. The successful candidate will be expected to show willingness to support their colleagues at such events on occasion.

Required:

  • A minimum of three years in a similar role involving intricate and extensive work on vehicles
  • A full clean UK driver’s licence
  • Clean criminal record
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong time and productivity management skills
  • Faultless punctuality

Desired:

  • A keen interest in motorsport and classic cars
  • A communicative and conscientious approach to work, being as comfortable in considering and acting upon the ideas and suggestions of others as your own.
  • Approachable and friendly attitude whilst interacting with both colleagues and customers

If you are passionate about classic cars, rally cars or electrical work in general, then send your CV or information about yourself, your experience and why you should be chosen for this role.
