Pace Performance is a professional motorsports team based in Shropshire, with over 75 years combined experience racing at the highest levels in the UK and Europe.
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Full-time, Permanent, Chief or No. 1 Mechanic to join our team.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mechanical repairs and maintenance, preferably in a supervisory role. Race car experience is required. The successful applicant will be a dynamic team player, able to work under pressure and with a positive, can-do attitude.
Duties
- Responsible for running GB4, Ginetta G56 and Ginetta Junior championship race cars, to include preparation and set-up, at-track testing and race support, and in-workshop car preparation.
- Supervision of Number 1 Mechanics in workshop and at track.
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance on all vehicles, tools and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance schedules and inventory of parts.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the workshop environment.
- Drive company vans, to include towing of trailers - essential.
Experience
- Proven experience as a race car mechanic, with a minimum of 5 years in a supervisory or lead role preferred.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems.
- Familiarity with diagnostic tools and equipment used in vehicle repair.
- Driving licence required.
