Job Description:
NASCAR seeks a talented professional to join in the position of Chief Engineer based in our Concord, NC corporate office. The Chief Engineer oversees the design, installation and maintenance of all broadcast equipment systems utilized at the MRN Broadcast Center and at remote broadcast sites.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversee the design, planning and installation of studio and remote broadcast equipment
Oversee the planning and implementation of Capital projects
Manage all aspects of service and maintenance contracts
Develop and manage the department budget
Oversee the documentation of engineering systems ensuring necessary updates are made in a timely manner
Identify and repair technical problems in conjunction with the Operations and Production teams; use expertise and independent judgement to identify larger issues and elevate to senior management team as necessary
Use expert-level knowledge and experience to troubleshoot audio impairments and provide rapid resolutions
Use expert-level knowledge and experience to investigate interference issues, develop and implement recommendations for resolution
Collaborate with IT department to implement design and advanced troubleshooting
Oversee and execute preventative maintenance of the MRN studios and remote vehicles
Travel: 30%, including weekends
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervises assigned staff. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree or equivalent from four-year college or technical school and a minimum of ten years of broadcast engineering experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in routing audio signals to destinations and performing basic troubleshooting of audio. Experience in network or station engineering and satellite uplinks.
