JOB TYPE: Full Time; Salaried

BENEFITS*: Medical; Dental; Vision; 401k w/ company match; Paid Time Off; Paid Holidays.

*pursuant to company handbook policies & vesting periods.

SUMMARY:

Xtreme Xperience seeks to hire a full-time, Chicago-based, CDL Class A Driver to operate and transport company-owned assets in accordance with FMCSA / DOT regulations. The driver will carry vehicles from our headquarters in Chicago, IL to various racetracks across the United States. The assets to be operated include a 3500 series pickup truck in combination with a 44ft Featherlite 2-Car enclosed trailer (gooseneck).

Our business hosts racetrack-based driving experiences across the United States. In 2020 we are scheduled to host ~45 events. Given the nature of our work, our team requires greater flexibility and internal control related to auxiliary car-transport. We recognize hiring a CDL A driver will provide our guests and team with greater consistency in delivering our product.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

The CDL A driver will support our program in (2) ways.

1. Pre-planned trips that align with our tour schedule based on demand that determines a need to activate the Featherlite trailer. Such trips are either round-trip [Chicago-Event-Chicago], or otherwise may require [Event-to-Event] stints that may keep you on the road for longer periods of time.

2. Un-scheduled trips that support our team’s ability to maintain a fully-operational fleet at each event. We carry additional “hero-cars” (backup vehicles) to each event. However, throughout the season, circumstances arise which require real-time decisions to transport / exchange vehicles between Chicago and event-locations.

Within the scope of the CDL A Driver role, responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Transportation of vehicles and assets according to demand / provided schedules, and in accordance with FMCSA / DOT Rules & Regulations.

- Thorough inspection and documentation of vehicle (truck and trailer) and cargo (vehicles and equipment) conditions (pre-trip and post-trip).

- Cautious, safe and professional loading, securing, unloading of vehicle cargo, taking place in the physical constraints of an enclosed 2-car trailer. Vehicles must be loaded with great care to avoid damages that can be easily caused – most commonly to doors, fenders, mirrors, undertrays, bumpers, wheels and interiors.

- Conscious management and planning of routes and schedules, with consideration of Hours of Service (HOS), to meet deadlines and avoid / adapt to variables that can cause delays (equipment failure, weather, construction, fuel, inspection / weigh-stations, etc.)

- Proper use of ELD systems (GeoTab) to manage Hours of Service and audit HOS logs.

- Reporting of equipment maintenance needs.

- Basic maintenance of assets (trucks, trailers, lights, wiring, wheel/tire change, hitch systems, general cleanliness, minor repairs, organization and care of materials used for loading & securing cargo, etc.).

- Compliance with company policies and procedures.

- Reporting of equipment malfunction, defects, maintenance needs or safety concerns.

- Reporting of defects, accidents, violations.

- Maintenance of vehicle paperwork records, safety related equipment, etc.

- If required, management support for IFTA & IRP related documentations.

- If required, knowledge / awareness of any necessary “State-Specific” permits, etc.

For additional context, each trip requires a driver to be away-from home for multiple days. A standard event requires departure on a day / time which permits a Thursday arrival, typically on-site between 12:00pm and 2:00pm. This is our event setup day. The driver will remain onsite during the event. Departure will follow the final event day. Events typically end on Sunday and the driver would be underway to the next event, or returning to Chicago, upon completing the necessary rest / off-duty cycles.

During these trips, a per-diem is provided for each event-day and each 10-hr driving day. In addition, lunch is provided on-site at the racetrack for working team-members. Your hotel accommodations will be paid for by the company. Please be informed that during events you will be required to share a hotel room with another team-member as is standard practice – unless circumstances require other consideration.

Secondarily, and as demand for driving fluctuates throughout the season, we will explore additional office and event-based supporting roles & responsibilities in a fashion that strikes a healthy balance of consistent full-time workload.
