Atlanta Motorsports Park (AMP) is the first green, sustainable motorsports country club for high-performance cars, motorcycles, and karts. Less than an hour north of Atlanta, AMP provides a driver’s haven for its members and their guests. Atlanta Motorsports Park offers private track rentals, car racing, kart racing, kart and car racing schools, supercar experiences, a conference center, catering, and corporate group options. In addition, AMP’s unique kart track has the highest elevation change in the world and attracts visitors from all over the world.

We’re looking for a customer-focused team player with excellent hospitality skills to join our growing events team.

As the ideal candidate for this position, you will have at least one year’s experience in a food/food service position – potentially within a catering, events or restaurant business. As AMP’s Catering Assistant, you will creatively display and arrange food and beverage items on tables, while keeping safe food handling guidelines in mind. The Catering Assistant is expected to professionally interact with clients prior to the event via email or phone, as well as be the point of contact on the day of the event. You will be asked to organize event details prior to and also on the day of the event, ordering, reviewing, following up on, and physically setting up catering, audiovisual, and other meeting needs. You will act as a key member of the AMP Events Team and your team will rely upon you for the timely execution of all tasks related to events at AMP. Front-facing customer skills are a must for this position since you will be interfacing with AMP’s members and corporate client base on a daily basis.

Working under the guidance of AMP’s Events Manager, you will have responsibility for providing prompt and courteous service to all customers and ensuring that meeting rooms and entertainment spaces are set up to the highest standards.

General Responsibilities:

  • Review event order forms to ascertain client catering and room set up needs
  • Ensure staff is working together as a team
  • Communicate with guests, other employees, or departments to ensure guest needs are met and exceeded
  • Respond to and strive to fulfill any special banquet event arrangements
  • Set up banquet area/room, ensuring cleanliness and proper set up of furniture/equipment in a timely and professional manner
  • Inspect and maintain table set-ups for cleanliness, neatness and in agreement with event order form and company standards
  • Resolve any problems and/or ask for guidance from team members
  • Organize timely delivery of all perishable food/catering items
  • Serve food/beverages in a professional manner
  • Ensure all services are cleaned away at the end of the meeting or event
  • Maintain a clean and organized working environment
  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional
  • Manage ordering of non-perishable inventory for AMP
  • May serve as a point of contact for customers eg booking catering, answering questions and potential planning for future service needs
  • May serve as on site event host for smaller events
  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards
  • Speak with others using clear and professional language, and answer telephones using appropriate etiquette
  • Listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.

Skills:

  • Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word, as well as Gmail, and related software
  • Food handling or server certification is a bonus
  • Strong event planning skills
  • Flexible schedule with ability to work nights, weekends, short notice, and half shifts
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets
  • Support all co-workers and treat them with dignity and respect
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, and support the team to reach common goals
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Reliable transportation
  • Must be able to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance
  • Must be able to assist with moving, lifting, carrying, and placing of objects weighing in excess of 75 pounds
  • Must be able to stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift.
  • Must be able to work outside in adverse conditions such as heat, cold, rain, and snow for long or short periods of time as requested
  • Must be able to make confident, common-sense, creative and mutually beneficial decisions when asked to make changes to existing event arrangements by client, vendors or members from other departments.
