Car Build Technician

An exciting position has become available Tuthill Porsche. Our new state of the art building is now completed and therefore we are looking for a car build technician to expand its workshop in order to satisfy an ever-increasing demand to build and maintain Porsches from all generations.

About Tuthill Porsche:

Francis Tuthill Ltd is based in Wardington, Oxfordshire.Now synonymous with the world’s most successful historic Porsche rally cars, and having worked with rallying’s greatest names, Tuthill’s also build winning Porsche race cars.

The Tuthill Porsche workshops regularly take on complete restoration projects, including bespoke road cars. All aspects of Porsche rebuilds are carried out in-house, from engine and transmission builds to rust repair, metal fabrication, roll cage installation and full body & paint.

Tuthill Porsche has just completed a new state of the art workshop on site to accommodate the ever-growing work load.

Job Purpose:

  • To Build and rebuild road, rally and race cars to the highest level
  • To problem solve and diagnose faults with minimum supervision
  • Event support (optional)

Skills Required:

  • Building of bespoke cars to an extremely high level
  • Excellent workshop knowledge & technical skills
  • High attention to detail
  • The ability to communicate effectively and resolve problems quickly and efficiently
  • Good communication, organisation and inter-personal skills
  • Be flexible and possess a good sense of humour
  • Be able to manage your time and prioritise your workload

  • Energetic, proactive, calm under pressure, highly personable with a mature personality
  • Strong Team-worker with the ability to thrive in a small, closely-knit, and dedicated team
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Flexibility – being prepared to work longer hours when occasionally required
  • Self-motivated and with the ability to work unsupervised

Experience Required:

  • Previous car build experience is essential
  • Previous restoration work would be an advantage
  • Experience working on Porsches of all ages and types would be an advantage
  • Experience with Porsche is desirable

Education and Qualifications Required:

  • Full Driving licence – Essential
