The Project

The Bend Motorsport Park is a world-class development providing the widest variety of motorsport disciplines 'through the one gate', including circuit racing, drag racing, drifting, karting, rally and off-road, rallycross, 4WD park, and driver training facilities. The development is a private development being undertaken by Peregrine Corporation.

The motorsport facilities are well supported by a hotel located in the pit building, caravan and camping, an air strip for light aircraft, helipad, a business/industry park and a community sub-division.

The Bend will cater for international events, national series racing, grass roots club events, driver safety training and drive experience programs.

About the Role

The newly created role of Business Development Manager is responsible for leading a small sales and client management team and all corporate sales activities including, commercialising event properties, supply rights, hospitality and merchandising sales, circuit and facility hire agreements, sales promotion for corporate drive experience programs and third-party driver training partnerships.

The role will negotiate commercial partnerships for sponsorships, media rights, supply agreements and commercial agreements such as catering and merchandising. Management of stakeholders by developing and maintaining relationships with key clients and business partners to facilitate the development and generation of business opportunities is vital to the role.

 

Your key responsibilities will include but not be limited to;

  • Secure new events - dry-hire, selected promoted events and corporate events across the various function centres of The Bend
  • Sales of sponsorship, corporate hospitality and event merchandising sites
  • Conduct annual corporate market assessment and targeted segmentation plans
  • Grow the corporate client base through value-based proposals and account plans
  • Develop corporate product offerings and sales campaigns
  • Manage sales lead identification and qualification
  • Manage client event activations and retention of existing client base
  • Manage corporate trade debtors to ensure timely client payments in collaboration with accounts receivable
  • Management and delivery of sales reporting, budgeting and forecasting in accordance to the organisation's requirements
  • Ensure development of staff to support strategic direction and business objectives by providing guidance and training support
  • Flexibility to travel throughout Australia and work outside of usual business hours

To be successful in the role you will have:

  • Proven sales ability and outstanding negotiation skills
  • Proven ability to define value propositions for commercial partnerships
  • Experience in the development of commercial business plans
  • Professional presentation skills with the highest communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to influence internal and external stakeholders
  • Effective organisation, time management and customer skills
  • Expertise in the Microsoft Office suite
  • Driver's Licence

Desirable

  • Tertiary qualification in Marketing / Business / Finance, or related
  • Knowledge and experience in the motorsport industry / event management
