Business Administration Representative

Located within five hours (300 miles) of 25 percent of the U.S. population, Watkins Glen International is the premier road racing facility in North America, three-times voted “Best NASCAR Track” by readers of USA Today. The Glen hosts a diverse portfolio of premier sports car, open wheel and stock car races throughout the year.

Duration: February 2021 – August 2021                

Summary:

The Business Administration Representative is responsible for assisting all departments (Administration, Special Events, Marketing, Sales and Ticketing) in the strategic development and implementation of new and existing major events.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Special Events department in all areas of event planning and activations     
  • Support the Corporate Sales department with sponsor obligations management including ticket distribution, credential requests, event sponsored activations, and gathering public announcements scripts
  • Assist with NASCAR Show Car and WGI Pace Car appearances
  • Support the Marketing department with event advertisement and promotion duties 
  • Assist the Ticketing department with ticket fulfillment and event preparations
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as needed  

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Minimum of two years towards a Bachelor’s degree: Business, Marketing, or related field
  • Flexibility to work early mornings, late evenings, and occasional weekends as required
  • Excellent relationship management and interpersonal skills; the ability to work effectively with staff and volunteers; display superior judgement and diplomatic skills; excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrate enthusiasm, commitment to excellence, self-motivation, and professionalism; Must be highly organized and detail oriented
  • The ability to handle multiple tasks with organization and accuracy
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet research, and experience working with databases
