Brake Technician (Automotive)

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Installation of brake pads, brake discs, brake lines and oversize brake caliper kits onto customer cars

• Identifying faults with the braking system on customer cars and then rectifying these faults

• Making bookings and maintaining the CofE workshop booking calendar

• Eventually playing a assisting role in the development of Big Brake Kit upgrades, including performing onvehicle measurements for caliper brackets and brake disc hubs and making recommendations to the EBC engineering team

• Trial fitment of new products (2-piece discs, big brake kits, brake lines etc.) that need fitting to a vehicle and signing off before going into production

• Maintaining EBC’s fleet of development vehicles including carrying out routine maintenance, prepping cars for on-track testing and stripping down vehicles post-test

• Ensuring the CofE garage is kept clean and tidy and all tools are put away at the end of each working day

• Conduct weekly tool inspections, looking for any missing or worn tools and replacing as necessary

• Ensure that Health & Safety best practices are followed and that any colleagues/customers entering the CofE garage are made aware of the hazards and are kept safe

• Ensuring that only managers and authorised personnel are present in the CofE garage

• Ensure a high standard of workmanship and professionalism is maintained to ensure customer cars are treated with the utmost care

• Representing the company in a positive and professional manor whilst providing excellent customer service when customers are on site

• Communicate effectively with your line manager and other colleagues in the EBC Racing team, ensuring any potential complications are foreseen, discussed with the relevant personnel and then mitigating suggestions put forward to the line manager

• Perform other duties as assigned or as the situation dictates which may include the assembly of brake calipers and the operation of CNC machinery
