As a Calipologist...
Calipology Limited (was BCS Automotive), the leader in Brake Caliper Refurbishment and Custom Painting for Motorsport, High-End, Performance and Prestige car Owners and Dealers throughout the UK, has a new opening for Brake Caliper Technician with an immediate start in Long Eaton, Nottingham ( between J24/25 of M1).
The role comes with FULL TRAINING and support.
The main part of the role will require you to dismantle brake calipers into their component parts, assess parts that might require replacing, de-grease and shot blast, ready to hand over to the painters.
Once painted, you will delicately rebuild the calipers, so as to not scratch or chip the freshly painted parts. Once rebuilt, you will then pressure test, clean and wax the parts before packaging them up for shipping back to the customer.
We have BIG goals and are hoping to expand into nearer Europe and the USA in 2021.
Our goal is to be the big name in braking for end users and the trade by 2022.

We're Experimenting with a 4 Day Working Week..?
And keep the pay for the full 5 days.
Please be aware that we are due to run this as an 8 week experiment with the entire workforce in the coming weeks. We're all for a work/life balance and believe that happier, less stressed staff can be more productive. But please don't consider this as a full on promise that the 4 day week will be permanent. We're hoping it will be, but this depends on the results.
Who Are We Looking For?
We really need someone with good mechanical experience and can demonstrate good dexterity and use of hand tools.
It is unlikely that we will find too many people that have had a career in refurbishing brake calipers, we'll be looking for someone that has perhaps served at least 2 years as a mechanic and has a good head start in how brakes work and may have done basic refurbishments from time to time.
Qualifications Required
Any garage/mechanic related qualifications would be beneficial, although as mentioned above, experience will be more beneficial. You don't necessarily require any qualifications as in the 'real world' there are many people operating as a mechanics without qualifications, so we're more keen on real world experience.
However, we are keen to see applicants with at least grade C in Maths, Science and English.
Working Time
With the exception to the 4 day working week experiment. You will work the following:
- Monday to Friday 8am till 5pm
- 30 minute break for lunch
- 28 Full Paid Holiday Days Per Year
- 9 Straight Days off for Christmas
