We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Bill of Materials (BOM) Engineer to join our Manufacturing & Logistics team based in Surrey.

The Key accountabilities of the Manufacturing & Logistics department within Gordon Murray Automotive is to deliver customer vehicles whilst maintaining the highest quality standards, timing, cost and driving operational excellence.

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Production Planning & Change Control Manager, you will be responsible for creating, developing and managing elements of the Bill of Materials (BOM) in an accurate, timely manner whilst supporting the parts release and engineering change processes.

The successful candidate will be responsible to deliver the following tasks:

  • Ensure all parts contained in the manufacturing BOM are correctly set up and structured in the Material Resource Planning system

  • Lead the relevant project teams to ensure that the BOM accurately reflects what is required for manufacturing, logistics, material control purposes

  • Manage the configuration change management process for product designs and monitor engineering changes to assess impact on the manufacturing BOM

  • Manage and secure BOM accuracy to deliver the expected output against project milestones

  • Manage the BOM data migration and validation between systems

  • Contribute to continuously improve BOM management

  • Carry out other duties that may reasonably be requested of you

    Experience and Qualifications:

  • Experience in an automotive, aerospace, FMCG or manufacturing environments

  • Academic qualifications in Engineering, Manufacturing, Information Technology

  • Experience of BOM control and understanding of change management processes

  • Knowledge and experience of PLM, IFS systems and their implementation

  • High level of competence with Microsoft Excel and analytical tools

  • Strong leadership, verbal and written communication skills

  • Self-motivated, proactive team player able to successfully cope with tight deadlines whilst ensuring quality of performance
