The manager data is an organizational leader with a passion for data and analysis who has a clear vision for how data can transform company strategy. *The role requires hands on leadership necessary to grow a team through the startup phase into a mature organization. 

Job Responsibilities 

  • The  manager data is responsible for developing and governing the collection, management, and storage of data across the organization and analyzing and deriving insights from data to inform business strategy and value to drive business decisions, growth, and new opportunities.
  • Leads the development of an enterprise-wide data strategy for review and approval by the Senior Leadership Team
  • This role will evolve the data platform and develop extended data capabilities including machine learning, applied AI, data science, data engineering, BI, and strategic analytics to drive continuous business growth
  • *Lead data architects and data engineers to architect and deliver the solutions that fulfill the Business information needs and align with the information vision and strategy
  • Provide advice, guidance, direction, and authorization to carry out major plans and procedures to ensure schedule attainment, product development process adherence, and performance and budget targets are met
  • Bring operational excellence for data streamlining, automation, and the required tools to monitor the overall ecosystem
  • Facilitate the establishment and execution of the roadmap and vision for information delivery and management, including the enterprise data warehouse, big data, BI & analytics, content management and data management
  • Apply business strategy while driving technology strategy, balancing short term and long term needs to ensure that the architecture can scale and evolve accordingly.
  • Work closely with leadership, partner organizations, and implementation teams to drive design & oversight of APIs, data sharing capabilities, and support models to underpin modern marketing transformation strategy
  • Provide advice, guidance, direction, and authorization to carry out major plans and procedures to ensure schedule attainment, product development process adherence, and performance and budget targets are met
  • Engage an end-to-end approach by connecting all the pieces of data to deliver the data while leveraging all available assets
  • *Take an active role in the performance management process by completing goal setting, interim review, and year-end review on a timely basis and soliciting ongoing feedback

Qualification

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in data management, product development, and/or data governance.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent field. Bachelor's degree in an analytical field such as statistics, operations research, economics, computer science preferred (graduate degree is a plus).
  • 7 years of experience working with data sets
  • 7 years of experience using Microsoft Excel for data analysis
  • 7 years of experience using SQL or other querying languages to create data sets
  • 5 years of experience in data engineering, working with data platforms (cloud data lake, cloud data warehouse)
  • Experience with extracting and aggregating data from large data sets using SQL, Hive or other tools
  • Experience in understanding and analyzing data using statistical software (e.g., Python, SAS, R, Stata or related technology)
  • 5 years of leadership, management and administration experience
  • 3 years of experience with ETL tools and programming languages (i.e., Informatica, Python)
  • Knowledge of statistical software like Minitab, SPSS, R or SAS
  • Understanding of data integration approaches, including data ingestion and transformation, and data warehousing concepts like dimensional modeling
  • Experience working in a DevOps environment 
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite
  • 3 years of experience in data engineering, working with data platforms (cloud data lake, cloud data warehouse)
  • Experience with cloud-based integration platforms (like Informatica Cloud/IICS, Azure Data Factory, Dell Boomi, SnapLogic, IBM) or on-prem like Informatica PowerCenter
