Assembly Shop Mechanic

Position Overview

Primarily responsibility is managing the assembly shop personnel and assisting with initial set up of the race car across all 23XI NASCAR Cup Series entries

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Directing and managing the daily tasks and schedules of the assembly shop personnel
  • Works with the Director, Race Team Operations and Purchasing Manager on inventory, process, and quality control
  • Assists with initial setup of the race car
  • Working closely with race team managers to ensure car builds are accurate
  • Proposing improvements to the assembly process
  • Train the assembly shop personnel on quality control
  • Coordinates with other areas to ensure final and timely completions of the race car
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager

Required Skills, Experience and Abilities

To perform the job successfully, you should demonstrate the following competencies:

  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) required
  • 10+ years of NASCAR national series experience required
  • 7+ years of race car assembly manager
  • Management experience for a multi-car organization.
  • Knowledge of NASCAR rules and regulations
  • Strong mechanical knowledge required
  • Welding ability is preferred
  • Basic computer skills preferred
  • Ability to lead team and drive results
  • Ability to assess and react to situations in a fast-paced stressful environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Skills to work independently, and operate well under pressure to meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to identify and propose solutions to complex issues
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
