Assembly Operations Manager

Role:

Management of the assembly and test operations team, processes, facilities and tools to achieve delivery schedules within Performance Products at Ricardo’s Midlands Technical Centre

As Assembly Operations Manager you will be responsible for providing an effective and well controlled product assembly and test service for a wide variety of customers primarily (but not exclusively) in the motorsport industry. You will work with the Project Managers and the planning team to understand and deliver the project requirements, from initial concept through implementation to customer delivery

Primarily based at Ricardo’s Midlands Technical Centre in Leamington Spa, this role could also involve occasional travel to other Ricardo locations and customers

Must have

  • Experience of operational performance in a fast moving project based environment with niche volumes
  • Understanding of automotive or aerospace quality control processes
  • Experience of implementing and improving hands-on production processes through lean initiatives
  • Intermediate understanding of Microsoft Office products particularly Microsoft Excel

Desirable Experience

  • Working in a production environment with automotive or aerospace level of control and traceability
  • Assembly of complex mechanical / hydraulic systems

IT skills

  • Good computer skills with an ‘enterprise’ MRP system (ideally a Baan / Infor system)
  • Intermediate level of PC and general computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Excel.

Education

Engineering degree qualified or equivalent education/experience
