Application Engineer

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate lubricant testing activities conducted for EB/OEM/Marketing within AP, in cooperation with customer, Marketing, Products Development, 3rd party test laboratories, Equipment Engineers, OEM Advisors as appropriate
  • Coordinate and manage oil sample shipping to test sites
  • Conduct visits at test sites; perform end-of-test expertise including equipment inspection, rating, interpretation and reporting
  • Manage new vendor in system and ensure appropriate quality certifications
  • Assist in quality audits at 3rd Party Test Labs when required
  • Coordinate testing activities with 3P labs; place orders; secure budget and issue payment
  • Set-up and coordinate field demonstration tests; ensure all legal agreements are in place; provide instructions, forms and equipment as appropriate
  • Coordinate and sets up in-service oil analysis EB/OEM test slates, interprets test data and trends, and edit/present project summary report
  • Make recommendations on new test equipment purchase plan to benefit lubricant testing programs; participate in equipment commissioning
  • Attend Industry Committees, Associations, Forums
  • Translate test methods into English / Chinese
  • Active and efficient use of latest IT-Technology tools

REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
• At least 3 years technical work experience in lubricant application, lubricant testing, automotive driveline testing/design
• Experience in petroleum, automotive industry a plus
• Fluency in English, both oral and written
