Aftersales Procurement Specialist

As part of our Track25 business plan we will launch 18 new models or derivatives of our vehicles and look to expand our retailer network into new markets with an aim of having 100 retailers globally.

Purpose of the role:

Reporting into the Aftersales Parts Operations Commercial Manager, this is an exciting opportunity to work within the McLaren Aftersales team, with the primary responsibility of ensuring the on-time and stable supply of Aftersales parts to the global McLaren Retailer network. As the business experiences, rapid growth in both the volume and variety of vehicles, McLaren must ensure that our ground-breaking product performance is more than matched by a class leading Aftersales customer experience.

This role must deliver commercial solutions through our supply base, enabling Retailers to surpass the expectations of McLaren owners both in terms of product availability and cost.

Principal accountabilities:

  • Implementing a strategy to secure the supply of Aftersales product through the complete vehicle lifecycle, with particular focus on the stage between end of model production through to end of model life
  • Ongoing negotiation of Aftersales’ part and tool costs, optimising the commercial terms and conditions with suppliers to suit the needs of McLaren
  • Negotiation of Aftersales commercial terms with the supply base for all new McLaren vehicles and models in support of project launch timescales
  • Sourcing of components sold to Retailers and customers as Aftersales specific product
  • Implement a supplier engagement process specific to Aftersales, ensuring that all necessary suppliers are actively managed and fully committed to meeting their McLaren Aftersales obligations
  • Build relationships with both key internal and external stakeholders at a senior level, supporting all other accountabilities and ensuring that all Aftersales strategies match the overall McLaren business imperatives
  • Ensure that all required master data needed to both procure parts from the supply chain, and to distribute through our global Retailers is accurate and captured in the system ahead of new product, model, or market launches.

Knowledge, skills & experience:

  • Evidenced Procurement experience either from within the Automotive industry or from an indirect background
  • Familiar with the specific challenges associated with sourcing and managing an Aftersales supply chain
  • Experienced in supplier negotiation and management
  • Keen eye for developing & implementing a strategic approach to problem solving
  • Able to manage an extensive supply chain and volume of parts
  • IT skills: Advanced MS Excel is essential. Experience using SAP would be an advantage
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills at all levels of the business, with strong written and presentation capabilities
